珠串腕飾 / Bracelets of Carnelian Beads or Glass Beads

 

噶瑪蘭婦女盛裝配戴的腕飾主要有二種類型，一種是瑪瑙珠串腕飾（ROM col. # 915.3.235 & 236），另一種玻璃珠串腕飾（ROM col. #915.3.228 & 229）。二種都是複串腕飾，由多條珠串平行串連而成，二側或中央有骨板或貝板間隔。骨板和貝板表面幾何線雕紋飾，側面貫穿多個小孔穿入珠串。其中一組瑪瑙珠腕飾（ROM col. # 915.3.235 & 236），由11條瑪瑙珠串間隔線雕骨版而串成；一側端垂掛有一片圓形小銀片。其裝飾風格與前述新娘配戴之瑪瑙珠串頭飾（ROM col. #HE139）和銀棒珠串項鍊(ROM col. # 915.3.224)類似，根據紀錄這是新娘盛裝配戴的腕飾。

 

Two kinds of bracelets were used by the Kavalan women in ritual occasions. One kind is made of threaded red carnelian beads and the other kind is made of colorful small glass beads. The multiple strings of threaded beads are fringed or divided by vertical bone or shell sticks. One pair of carnelian beaded bracelets (ROM col. # 915.3.235 & 236) is attached with a round silver plate at the edge, and this style is similar to the bridal carnelian headdress (ROM col. #HE139), as well as bridal necklace of silver rod and beads (ROM col. #HE139). According to the original collection record, these were the bracelets used by the Kavalan bride in the wedding ceremony.
